Materials
Overview
The flow meter is normally fitted on the manifolds for underfloor, wall and ceiling radiant heating and cooling systems and is designed to measure the flow of each circuit. The flow meter can be made in the most varied configurations, including materials such as plastic, stainless steel and brass, but we will look at this in more detail later on.
Insights
Available both on the supply of the manifold and sometimes also on the return, they allow the flow of water circulating within each individual circuit to be read with an error never greater than 5%. The reading scales normally used for a flow meter are 0-2.5 l/min and 0-5 l/min. It is also possible to produce flow meters with a unit of measurement different from l/min, as is the case for example with the reading in gpm, which is very common in the American market.
