Manifold testing: an essential step for safety

On-site leak test with a water-glycol mix at 6 bar for at least 48h, plus customisable Simplex pressure gauges for monitoring.

At Simplex Hydronic Technology we have always believed that every detail makes the difference. Testing manifolds and loops directly on site is an essential step to guarantee maximum reliability, safety and efficiency of the radiant system. It verifies the system's seal before commissioning, reducing the risk of problems and ensuring long life.

What the test involves: a mix of generally 70% water and 30% glycol is introduced into the system (the ratio varies with the required frost protection). The circuit is pressurised to about 6 bar, keeping the pressure constant for at least 48 hours, to check for any leaks or abnormal drops.

During this phase the perfect seal of loops and manifolds is verified, pressure stability over time is checked and the system's ability to withstand operating conditions is certified.

To make this operation even safer, Simplex Hydronic Technology can equip manifolds with pressure gauges that allow constant monitoring of the radiant system's pressure. Our gauges are customisable on request, to suit the specific needs of the project.

Carrying out the on-site test correctly is not only a guarantee of quality, but also an investment in the durability and reliability of the system.
